- 250 ml fresh pineapple juice
- ¼ cup freshly-squeezed lemon juice
- One tablespoon honey
- Half a teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Piece of ginger root (7 inches long, grated)
Method of Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients together. Consume ¼ of the resulting mixture, 2-3 times a day. Repeat the procedure regularly in order to get rid of the cough.
Here is one more remedy, which besides being delicious, can provide you with energy during the cold winter days and will also help you relieve cough.
1 medium size pineapple (peeled and cut in slices)
150g muscovado sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
One orange juice
Half lemon (squeezed) 50g butter
Method of preparation:
Caramelize the muscovado sugar in a pan, add the cinnamon and star anise. Then add the pineapple which is previously cut into pieces and honey. Mix briefly and then add the rum. Mix again. After the flame disappears add the lemon and the orange juice. Boil until the liquid is completely reduced. Finally, add the butter which will give creaminess and proper density to the mixture. For better taste, add almonds or chopped mint leaves.
